  1. Apogee Software develops, markets and supports a suite of highly advanced optimizing SPARC compilers.  The suite produces code which provides unsurpassed runtime performance.

  3. Release 3.0 introduces two new Apogee products: Apogee-C++ (a native compiler) and Apogee-Fortran 90.  These products will add to Apogee's existing line of SPARC products, which includes Apogee-C, Apogee-FORTRAN, and single and multiple processor versions of the KAP preprocessors.

  7. Apogee-C++ is completely compatible with emerging ANSI/ISO standards, and will track revisions to the standards.  Apogee-C++ currently offers three modes of operation:

  9.   *  a cfront 2.1 mode (which accepts cfront 2.1 conforming code)
  10.   *  an ANSI C++ mode (which accepts current draft ANSI C++)
  11.   *  a tolerant C++ mode (which accepts ANSI C++ without
  12.         enforcing every ANSI rule).

  14. The product is also AT&T 3.0 compatible.  Apogee-C++ is available as a stand-alone compiler, or can be purchased with the Apogee-C compiler for a reduced price.

  16. The Fortran 90 language allows the scientific/engineering community to benefit from many features of modern programming languages.  Specific benefits of Fortran 90 include:

  18.   *  Compatibility with existing FORTRAN 77 code.
  19.   *  Better software engineering practice using MODULES.
  20.   *  Enhanced portability by using the Fortran 90 standardization of
  21.        various FORTRAN 77 dialects and extensions.
  22.   *  More adaptable programs using dynamic data management with
  23.        Fortran 90 ALLOCATABLE's and POINTER's.
  24.   *  Application domain specific coding style with Fortran 90
  25.        overloaded operators and array syntax.

  27. Developed in conjunction with Kuck and Associates, Inc., which produces the KAP Optimizing Preprocessors, Apogee-Fortran 90 is a complete implementation of the ANSI/ISO standard.  It comes with a fast FORTRAN I/O library and selected fast math library routines.
